Jeff Christ

Dear Walker Butte Middle School Community,

I'm Jeff Christ, the principal of Walker Butte Middle School. This year marks my fourth year leading this incredible school and my 15th year in education, all of which have been dedicated to the Florence Unified School District.

My educational journey began as a middle school math teacher and baseball coach at both middle and high school levels. After six years of teaching, I pursued and earned my master's degree in educational leadership from Grand Canyon University.

As a parent of twins who also attend school in our district, I bring a unique perspective to educational leadership. My personal experience as a parent deeply influences my approach to education, constantly reminding me to prioritize student needs and create the most supportive learning environment possible.

My core belief is simple: every student has the potential to learn and succeed when provided with the right tools and support. I am truly excited about the opportunities ahead and am committed to building strong relationships with our students, families, and staff.

I look forward to meeting and collaborating with all of our families this year and working together to help our students reach their full potential!

Warm Regards,

Mr. Jeff Christ

I am beginning my 12th year within the Florence Unified School District. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Michigan University, I obtained a teaching position with the Bullhead City Elementary School District. After 5 years of middle school teaching experience, I earned a master's degree in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University and transitioned into an administrative role. From there, I worked as a dean of students and assistant principal, before taking the role of elementary principal in the winter of 2017. Working at FUSD has been such a tremendous opportunity and allowed me to build great relationships with the school communities.

Being a parent to two boys has given me a lens to see how the K-8th grade journey impacts students and their motivation for learning throughout their educational careers. It is my mission, as an educator and administrator, to instill a passion for learning that goes beyond the classroom and continues throughout life. I want all our students and staff to feel empowered and engaged in their own education. This includes the many extracurricular activities we offer, encompassing a well-rounded educational experience.

I look forward to supporting the children and families of our outstanding community. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, or “Shout Outs!” to celebrate!

Go Coyotes!

I’ve been in education for over 15 years and am passionate about supporting student success and teacher growth. I hold a bachelor's degree from Montana State University and a master's in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University. Throughout my career, I’ve served in various roles, including classroom teacher, school leader, and most recently, district math instructional coach. These experiences have deepened my commitment to high-quality instruction and collaborative leadership. I’m so excited to join the Walker Butte Middle School team—go Coyotes!

My hope for our students and staff is that everyone recognizes their potential as we work together to raise the bar for excellence.
